Vision Statement
"To support and encourage individual growth using the principles of Psychosynthesis in a manner that enables our society to become holistically balanced in mind, body, emotions and spirit."
What is Psychosynthesis?
Psychosynthesis holds that we have an "inner self" - this self is not the body, nor the intellect, emotions nor desires. The inner self expresses itself in the present and may be contacted in the present. Everyone has an inner self and thus is equal to every one else.
This leads to a comparison with our present commercial era where value is denoted in terms of dollars and indeed we lack an ability to judge the value of an activity until we have determined how financially profitable that activity is. Here value is determined by outcome.
Psychosynthesis maintains that true awareness and consciousness always resides in the now. Change consists of uncovering our true selves and in expressing our true inner self. And this suggests how Psychosynthesis proceeds - it uses all that we have - our body, our mind, our memories, our feelings, how we express in the world including art, dance, sayings, sexuality - to uncover and work with our inner self. And what changes is the "truth" I express to myself about myself and my world - as I change what is "true" for me my world changes.
If I am always working towards a future time or outcome I am in a constant state of tension and anxiety and I am in a constant state of denial about how I am right now - the world says it's only OK if it's an OK outcome - Psychosynthesis says it's OK because its now and I am expressing who I truly am and what I truly feel in the now.
Psychosynthesis is a way to work with ourselves and maintains life is in the present and thus Psychosynthesis challenges an outcome orientated world.
